MRU Conservatory Spotlight Series

Saturday, November 14th, 2026
Join Conservatory alumnus Tilman Sandvoss (viola) and Oksana Yaremchuk (piano) for a performance featuring two major sonatas from the early 20th century, a concert piece by George Enescu, and a solo work by Calgary composer Vincent Ho. This program brings together staples of the viola repertoire by Rebecca Clarke and George Enescu, alongside Vincent Ho’s Punk Suite and a newly arranged version of Frank Bridge’s Cello Sonata by Tilman Sandvoss. Transport yourself back to the landscape of the early 20th century, and explore the rich evolving voice of the viola during this transformative period in music. While these works offer a glimpse into the past - Punk Suite looks ahead, with its bold, energetic, and futuristic aesthetics, fit for a cyberpunk world. The Spotlight Series features our talented Mount Royal Conservatory faculty in performance, within our beautiful Trans-Alta Pavilion.
***The box office will not be open the day of these events, so please have your tickets with you either printed or on your phone, or picked up in advance as there will be no will call available at showtime. You may purchase tickets at the door via QR code. No Cash Sales.***
