The Calgary Youth Orchestra, presents a concert of spectacular music, including Tchaikovsky's most famous symphony, his 5th, which was premiered, to the day, exactly 136 years ago: November 17, 1888. The concert also features the first prize winner of the 2024 Frank Simpson CYO Concerto Competition, Chanan Ngo, in a performance of the first movement of Erich Korngold's Violin Concerto. Also on the progran is Beethoven's stirring Leonore Overture written as an operning to his only opera, Fidelio.
